Analysis of the current state of development of the Darwin field and the development of its remaining reserves
D.F. Huseynova Cand. in Tech. Sc. - “Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project” InstituteIn order to extract the remaining recoverable reserves of the Darwin field, an analysis of the current state of the field and its facilities is being carried out.
Despite the fact that the field has been developed for more than 79 years, significant quantities of recoverable oil reserves remain in some of its horizons. To this purpose, the period from the start of development to the present day is being studied, a diagram of the distribution of residual reserves by horizons has been constructed, the dynamics of technological development indicators have been analysed, and an analysis of the well stock and total oil production has been carried out. Studies have shown that if development continues using the existing well system, significant reserves will remain in the productive formations. Therefore, to extract the remaining recoverable reserves, it is proposed to return wells to the upper reservoirs of the field and drill new wells.
