Study of the process of oxidation of oil tar in the presence of catalysts synthesized based on natural petroleum acids
V.M. Abbasov Dr. in Ch. Sc. - Institute of Petrochemical ProcessesThis article examines the effect of additives that have a catalytic effect on the oxidation of petroleum tar. Synthesized Fe- and Mn-containing salts of natural petroleum acids were studied as additives. The concentration of these compounds in petroleum tar was 0.1 and 0.3 wt. % per 100 g of raw material. It has been established that an additive containing a salt of variable valence metals has a different catalytic effect on the oxidation process depending on their concentration in the petroleum row material. The paper presents a comparison of oxidized bitumens obtained in oxidation processes “without” and “with” the addition of the studied compounds at optimal concentrations. It is demonstrated that the introduction of Fe- and Mn-containing salts of natural petroleum acids into petroleum tar, both individually and in combination, affects the duration of the oxidation process and the quality characteristics of the oxidized bitumens.
