Sulfur containing alkylphenolate additive to motor oils
A.Kh. MamedovaIn this article the results of researches by the method of preparation of the new sulfur containing alkylphenolate additive AKI-147 are given. It is known that the most of sulfur containing alkylphenolate additives are prepared from sulfuration of alkylphenol by elemental sulfur at high temperature with separation of the toxic hydrogen sulfide, but we prepared this additive by reaction of alkylphenol thiomethylation. Additive AKI-147 is a calcium salt of product of alkylphenol condensation f with formaldehyde and thioglycol acid. Active components of the additive are atom of sulfur, phenolate and carboxylate groups provide high antiwear, antioxidative, anticorrosive and detergent-dispersant properties of motor oils. Samples of the additive AKI -147 were investigated in comparison with the additives SIATIM-339 (Disulfidealkylphenolate of barium) and experimental AKI -144 (calcium salt of dialkyldibenzylsulfide). Additive AKI-147 by antioxidative and anticorrosive properties surpass the additive SIATIM -339 and AKI-144. It is evidently in connection with the additive AKI -147. Atom of sulfur of this additive is in side chain, but not between benzol rings as in the case of additives SIATIM -339 and AKI-144. Additive AKI -144 has been also investigated in the oil M-12B2 with the composition of additives. The results of researches show that the developed experimental oil M-12B2 by physical-chemical and functional properties corresponds to the requirements on this oil and by exploitation characteristics does not give way to foreign analogue of firm Shell Rotella-X30 (besides flash temperature). So, additive AKI-147 with the composition of additives allows creating motor oils on the level of foreign analogues.
