About classification status of hydrocarbon reserves and resources in Azerbaijan

In the article periods of calculation and recalculation of oil and gas reserves on Azerbaijan fields and the main points of classification reserves, prospective and predictive resources of oil and combustible gases are investigated. The comparison of the main indexes for recalculation performed in 1950s and up to now is given and it is also shown that increase of balance oil reserves and reduction of produced oil reserves and coefficient of final oil recovery on most fields are observed. Moreover, classification used in Azerbaijan doesnt have any status in Russia, because a new classification was affirmed, its coming into force since 01.01.2009 was arranged, but a real transition didnt occur. Due to it, considering the existing classifications in the world it is necessary to make a correct definition on classification for the calculation of hydrocarbon reserves and resources in Azerbaijan.
