About application of polyethylene pipelines in the gas industry of Azerbaijan
A.R. RagimovThe detailed analysis of advantages of polyethylene pipelines is carried out in comparison with steel pipelines at a construction of gas networks. As the basic advantages of polyethylene pipes, their low cost price, durability and low corrodibility are shown. Now transportation of gas by polyethylene pipes are laid by some gas pipelines in the republic. With the purpose of estimation of their hydraulic resistance researches have been carried out on corresponding sites from polyethylene and steel pipes of the working gas supplying network for Salyan and Neftchala. Researches were carried out at various modes of pressure and flow for winter and summer time. As a result of the researches it is established that, at various modes hydraulic resistance on a site from polyethylene pipes in comparison with a site from steel pipes falls almost twice. And it in its turn enables us to increase productivity not changing a mode of pressure. On a site form polyethylene pipes it is possible to explain decrease in value of hydraulic resistance very low value of their equivalent roughness (under working standards for new polyethylene pipes value of an equivalent roughness undertakes 0.0007sm, for new steel pipes this makes 0.01sm)
