The modern fluid dynamics of Absheron peninsula Caspian Sea water area as the possible indicator of oil-and-gas content of transit zone and its reflection in satellite data
D.A. HuseynovOne of the most important oil sources observed in satellite images in the Absheron peninsula water area are the centers of natural discharge of the hydrocarbon fluids. The intensity of this discharge is regulated by seismicity of the Earth crust of the South Caspian depression and the adjacent areas. Unlike the mud volcanic activation, the revealed fluid activity precedes the strong seismic events long before and reaches the maximum as far as accumulating the elastic energy in the earthquake focus. The specific features of spots, obtained on the base of processing and interpretation of cosmic survey, allow evaluating the position of discharge source at the sea bottom, periodicity of its activity, oil volumes coming into the environment. According to morphostructural features of the bottom, revealed using the specific digital processing of satellite information, it had been revealed that the discharge sources of hydrocarbon fluids in Baku bay are corresponded to the positive forms of the submarine relief and linear (fault) structures. The obtained results convince in necessity to develop the purposeful programs of monitoring of the natural fluidodynamics in Baku bay based on the advanced technologies of processing of satellite information and contact observations with purpose to elaborate the complex of seismic announcing, protective and environmental measures. The detail mapping of sources of oil submarine discharge will allow in perspective to perform the measures on their capturing in the sea bottom or to fence around by pontoons on sea surface like at the accident oil spill that allows protecting Baku bay from the natural disaster greatly exceeding the anthropogenic flow in seismoactive periods. In the present paper we absolutely dont prejudice the fact of anthropogenic pollution of Absheron water area and Baku bay in particular, but also state the presence of natural element, the contribution of which is great enough by cosmic survey data. Sources, dynamics and character of oil natural discharge in Absheron water area, including Baku bay, testify to great probability of hydrocarbons accumulations in its depths and represents a real interest to state the detail geological investigations and exploration surveys.
