Paleostructural analysis and oil - gas of Cenozoic complex sediments of Caspian - Guba oil-gas region
B. I. MaharramovAccording to the results of geologic investigations it is obvious that oil - gas prospects of Cenozoic complex sediments of Caspian - Guba oil - gas region are generally connected with Siyazan monocline, Gaynarja, Western Gaynarja anticlines and stratigraphic pitfalls existing on the south - west wing of Aghzibirchala ascent. Suitable paleographic and paleotectonic condition for the formation of hydrocarbon appeared in the location of the given structures. At the same time, Siyazan monocline should be considered as the more suitable space for the migration of hydrocarbons from the central part of hollowness towards its slopes. In Gusar - Khachmaz ascents zone the fall of Sarmat layer on Middle Jura sediments, Pont layer sediments in Aghzibirchala area show wedging of Cenozoic sediments on the south - west wing of Gusar - Khachmaz - Aghzibirchala buried ascents zone. There exist lithological - stratigraphic pitfalls in the sandy - clayey sediments of Middle Jura having enough collector features in these wedging zones. Their usefulness for hydrocarbon collection is doubtless. Stratigraphic pitfalls in the south - east periclines of anticlines entering Telebi - Gaynarja ascents zone and tectonically screened pitfalls limited with lengthwise break and great amplitude on the south - west wing are suitable for hydrocarbon collection. It is possible to say that there is a relevant condition for hydrocarbon collection in the sandy objects of Maikop layer. Thus, the study of paleostructural condition of Caspian - Guba oil - gas region gives a positive evaluation of oil - gas prospects of Cenozoic sediments here.
