The study of Productive Layer Genesis and oil - gas of South Caspian sediments via sequence - stratigraphic method
G. N. GahramanovThe initial period of development of Productive Layer as a sediment collection complex has started as a result of paleotectonic and sedimentological processes happened in the early Pliocene epoch of Neogene period of Cenozoic era. The article investigates two problems of Productive Layer: Sedimentation till the initial and final stage of sediment collection process, historic - geological condition of the basin, the content of sedimentary materials, and the mechanism of import; The researches carried out at the contemporary level on the sector, layer of Productive Layer complex, the obtained results, the spread of this complex along the regional and local area of South Caspian Sediment. Taking into consideration the rich oil - gas prospects of the basin and generally sedimentary cover complex in the future, it is possible to get new and very exact information about the stratigraphy, lithologic - facial features, paleogeography, oil - gas horizons of the basin, applying it by modern methods and sequence - stratigraphic method. It has been known that global eustasy and regional epeirogeny have a great role in the formation of Productive Layer as well as the condition formed by paleogeomorphological relief.
