The challenges experienced during gas storage, periodic gas injection, gas lifting and other processes in underground gas storages (UGS) have been studied and methods of their elimination have been indicated in the article. Importance of taking into account the impact of adsorption and effusion on active and buffer gas volumes and evaluation of flow regimes of water in porous environment in periodic injection of gas into storage and its lifting has been highlighted and these have been calculated and analyzed for Garadagh UGS.
