Studying of optical activity characteristics of products obtained from the oils of Azeri and Chirag offshore fields
B. A. HuseynovaOne of the unique characteristics of Azerbaijan oils is their being biologically active. Application of Naftalan and Surakhani refined oil for treatment of a number of skin and other diseases in traditional medicine is known for a long time. White oils obtained from Balakhany oil are both valuable and ecologically harmless raw material for perfumery. The article deals with studying optical activity characteristics of products obtained from oils of new offshore fields Azeri and Chirag. Narrow 50 oC fractions and vacuum residues boiling under temperature more than 450 oC of studied oil have been taken, and decomposed into naphthene-paraffin, aromatic hydrocarbons and asphalt-resin combinations through fluid - chromatographic adsorption method and different polar and non-polar solvents. Structure-composition content has been studies by IQ-spectroscopy method before and after making the fractions free of aromatics and optical activity rotation angle of polarization plane in different wave lengths has been measured in Perkin Elmer-140 and Polamat A polarimeters. Refraction parameters have been calculated. It was defined that optical activity of fractions increases as the temperature and ray breaking factor increase. The most optical activity was found in fraction of Chirag field oil boiling at the interval of 400-450 oC. Chiroptical characteristics of fractions have been studied, chromophore fragments generating positive Koton effect have been defined. The obtained results allow for separation of optical active organic substances by restriction of boiling limits of oil products.
