Technology of obtaining pure transmission oils – gearbox oils (nigrol) for industrial equipment

The article deals with outcomes of studies regarding processing of gearbox oils from Balakhany heavy oil and the possibility of obtaining such oils. Transmission oil gearbox oils is untreated residual oil consisting of asphalt-resin combinations, it is used in greasing of transmission and speed boxes of automobile and tractor. Gearbox oils are produced in two forms (winter and summer). Gearbox oils were obtained from compounding of distilled oil fraction of Balakhany heavy oil having viscosity of 8-10 mm2/s at 100 oC with tar and also from compounding of tar and black oil in different proportions. The obtained oils have been compared with oils of foreign companies. Gearbox oils do not meet the requirements of Specification 38101529-75 according to their freezing temperature. Therefore summer models of compounds are added 0.05 % and winter models are added 0.8-1.0 % Viscoplex-5309 depressant. At the result, gearbox oils with freezing temperature of negative 20 - negative 21 oC (winter) and negative 7- negative 7 oC (summer) were obtained. Transmission oils gearbox oils are indicated to be at the same level with foreign oils according to their quality indications. Production technology of pure transmission oils gearbox oils has been developed based on the studies carried out.
