Paleoenvironment of sediment accumulation of Sarmatian deposits in the central part of Kura and Gabirry interfluves OGR according to CDPM seismic exploration data and their perspectives in relation to oil content
E.G.AllahverdiyevProductivity of Sarmatian deposits spread almost along whole area of oil and gas bearing region (OGR) of Kura and Gabirry interfluves, is proved in deep-hole drilling. Within OGR the natural oil show from Sarmatian deposits is observed in Alachig, Eldaroyughu, Yaylajig areas and etc. Total thickness of Sarmatian stage within OGR reaches up to 1800 m. Oil and gas bearing horizons occupy 100 m interval of geologic section here, however industrial reserves arent observed in these deposits. We consider the reason is insufficient study of these deposits. Recently after conducting regional geophysical works have been obtained some interesting results making possible partially filling of this gap. Current abstract includes the results of seismic interpretation of exploration data by sequence analysis method targeting creation of model of historic-geologic development of Kura and Gabirry interfluves OGR, during Sarmatian stage, in whole the area between Molladagh and Aghtapa-Gurzundagh partially. In the result of CDPM seismic exploration data interpretation on Molladagh-Aghtapa-B.Gurzundagh areas there were determined unconformities revealed as an onlap on time section, along the surface of Lower Sarmatian, and on the surface of Sarmatian as an erosional truncation. It was considered that significant facies change of Middle Sarmatian deposit complex and paleocondition of their accumulation make favorable environment for the formation of nonstructural, depositional and stratigraphic traps in these deposits.
