Study of Garadagh area geological section lithological features with 3D seismic and well surveys
T.N. ShikhmammadovaGeological impact of seismic prospecting for oil and gas and other mineral resources depends on the degree of seismic sections high-speed characteristics previous study. As it is known, the main sources of information about seismic velocities are downhole measurements (layer vlay and average velocities vave data) and field ground-based observations during seismic surveys (effective velocity vef). Information about propagation of seismic waves velocities in geological medium are used in: solving problems associated with analysis (recognition of the waves type, the construction of synthetic seismograms) and the transformation of wave fields (the definition of kinematic corrections, the time migration of seismic field, etc.), the stratigraphic confinement assignment to the acoustic contrasts, the construction of depth sections and structural maps applying vave and vlay. In addition, velocity data along with other geological and geophysical data in the map and graph form can be used in solving problems related to: the definition of lithology, reservoir selection, the restoration of sedimentation conditions, and the discovery of zones with increased porosity of the sediments on seismic data. The ability to use velocity data to solve the above-mentioned problems appears from the dependence of geological factors rate and the physical properties of rocks. The paper considers the second type of problems, specifically the method for determining lithological characteristics of the section by studying its dependence on the basis of velocity of seismic waves propagation provided by 3D seismic survey in complex with well survey data on the example of Garadagh area, as well as obtained results. The proposed method can be used to forecast lithology and examine other characteristics of the geological medium in the presence of a limited number of log data.
