Geological substantiation of increase efficiency of underground gas storage Galmaz periodic operation
R.R. JafarovThe article is devoted to the questions of increasing the efficiency of UGS Galmaz periodic operation and geological maintenance of reservoir tightness controlling. Galmaz is the first underground gas storage created in Azerbaijan on gas condensate type well, industrial development of which was finished in 1970s. Injection of the gas into UGS has begun since 1974, and gas extraction since 1976 and now it is in commercial operation. In the result of conducted research works the following issues have been decided: - Specification ?of horizons structural maps, being under injection of the gas into UGS; - Specification of absolute points of horizons gas-water contact by the units on the basis of geophysical survey data and according to the results of well testing ; - Development of gas-saturated effective series maps by horizons; - Calculation of porous medium volumes by horizons; According to the materials of all drilled wells and results of 3D seismic surveys carried out in 2010 by Geophysics and Geology Department of SOCAR on Galmaz area, new structural maps on Lower Absheron, Aghjagil and I horizon PS have been developed, absolute points of gas-water contours on three horizons have been defined, effective gas-saturated series maps by the units of UGS have been constructed, and their average sizes have been calculated. As the result of carried out research works using selected core analysis data, results of well geophysical surveys have been calculated porous medium volumes by Ab1, Aghj, I and to II horizons PS. Thus, gas volumes, injected with various pressures into UGS collectors porous mediums have been determined.
