About nature of abnormal pressures on Shikhigaya area
Sh.S. KocharliCDP seismic surveys and structural-research drilling works were carried out in Shikhigaya area of Jeyrankechmaz depression in recent years, new geological-hydrodynamic data was acquired regarding with necessity of opening gas field of industrial importance here and its preparation for development. Intensive gas appearances were observed in solution during drilling at 647930 m interval in well No 1 A drilled at northern pericline of Shikhigaya anticline, density was lowered to 17002050 to 13501700 and associated with this density of solution was increased to 1,900-2,050 kg/m3. This time formation pressure estimated in accordance to solution was 110-188 MPa which is not specific to shallow depth (600-900 m). Also high formation pressure (1.52 times more) was observed in development of well. Taking into account the above mentioned, in particular methane content (98 99 %) of gases acquired from the well, idea of formation of Shikhigaya gas field on the account of mud volcano was justified. And this makes possible of using volcanic gases on industrial scale in future.
