Geothermal energy and its application potential in Azerbaijan

The gradual depletion of organic fuel reserves in the world and the damage to environment caused by their using leads to the need for in-depth study and application of alternative energy sources, including geothermal resources. From this point of view, in-depth studies of the geothermal resources of Azerbaijan, which have enough geothermal potential, production of geothermal energy by using many years experience in the field of oil extraction technology and excellent experienced staff of Azerbaijan is an actual issue. In the article geothermal energy, the history and development of its application in electricity production are briefly reviewed.
