Combined rod-tubing catcher
H. G. HuseynovAs we know one of the main reasons reducing oil and gas production is the accidents occurring during the operation of wells. Clinching or breaking of pump-compressor pipes (PCP), rods and other well equipments and their abandonment in the well is one of the most observed accidents. Taking into consideration that it is necessary to carry out catching works in four well out of each five wells overhauled, the issue of making effective catching equipment remains urgent. It is clear that catching works are most time and cost consuming works. Therefore, each lowering and hoisting operation of catcher tool into and from the well considerably increases the efficiency of removing damaged tools and equipment from the well. Combined rod-tubing catcher was processed which ensure reduction in number of lowering hoisting operation and time consumed for overhaul and increasing the probability of catching damaged pump rods and PCPs during each lowering. The present combined rod-tubing catcher is proposed for catching and hoisting to the wellhead the damaged PCPs and pump rods (separately or together) in operation wells. Preparation and operation technology of proposed CRTC type catcher tool is simple and efficient in relation to combined rod-tubing catcher.
