About the Upper Jurassic reef buildings of Middle Kura depression and their substantional content
Ch.M. Khalifa-ZadehThe results of complex sedimentological surveys of Upper-Jurassic Middle Kura reef buildings according to Saatly super-deep wells SD-1 and OP-1 are reviewed. It was established, that the reef buildings stratigraphic location here as in south-east Caucasus is of Oxfordian-Kimmeridgian age. The substantional content of Saatly Upper-Jurassic reefs has been studied. It was defined, that in Middle Kura bioherms biogenic less susteined carbonate mineral magnesium-calcium play the dominant role and in this caharcteristic they differ from south-east Caucasian Upper-Jurassic barrier reefs.
