Mathematical modelling of the process of vapor phase catalytic oxidation of methanol
A.M. AlievOn the basis of a kinetic model mathematical model of gas-phase oxidation of methanol to formic acid on a modified zeolite catalyst Pd-mordenite was developed. After some transformations the material balance equations for this process were obtained. The thermo balance and hydrodynamic were suggested. The thermo effect empiric formulas of reaction and capacity product of reaction depending on temperature have been obtained, their coefficients calculated. The Reynolds number for this process is calculated. Methyl alcohol gas mix and atmosphere density and viscosity are defined. The reactor optimum geometric dimensions are calculated.
