The study of geological structure of Dalimammadly field Cretaceous sediments on the basis of new seismic exploration data

T.Kh. Niyazov

Taking into consideration that the study of Mesozoic sediments geological structure considered prospective for oil and gas, is an actual geological issue, exploration works here conducted via complex geological methods in Dalimammadly field on the up-to-date technological and methodological level and new results have been obtained. In the acquired seismic cross sections there were recorded a well-tracked seismic horizon characterizing Mesozoic sediments surface in the south parts and Dalimammadly shelf arch and short length, intermittently reflective boundaries in the part deeper than it. Specific researches were conducted in the time and dynamic cross sections to determine the origin of reflection recorded in the part deeper than the surface of Mesozoic. The results of studies showed that they are useful seismic waves and associated with the geological boundaries of Cretaceous period volcanic origin sediments. Using seismic cross section acquired in the field of research, a structural map and scheme has been scheduled on the surface of Mesozoic sediments and reflecting inner geological structure of these sediments.
