The protection of environment in State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic

AlizadehSOCAR, playing an important role in countrys dynamic development carries out its activity in compliance with Azerbaijan Republic legislation on environment protection and accepted international Conventions. The estimation of impacts on environment and social sphere on Companys all new and reconstructed objects is being conducted. To perform all set goals on environment protection and to improve structure of control in ecology area, the document of SOCAR Ecology policy, describing the realization of Zero waste principal with the aim of maintaining environment initial state in new manufacturing sites and decreasing negative impact on it, was confirmed. Adhering to this principal in all oil-gas process stages, the inherited ecologic problems are solved, in particular much has been done to recover contaminated soils. The issues concerning environment protection, ecological risks management, ecological monitoring, produced water and wastes control, decreasing of wastes to the atmosphere, recovering of oil contaminated soils in SOCAR activity are considered. The brief information on ecology policy and accepted ecological programs, plans and strategies of the Company is provided. The results of ecological monitoring, greenery, oil wastes utilization have been reviewed.
