In oil field practice litho-facial criteria often plays a determinative role for the formation of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon deposits. Absheron litho-facial type of sedimentations (Absheron facies), enriched with quartz material, composes collectors of horizons of all large oil-gas fields of South Caspian basin (SCB). The genesis of Absheron facies is closely connected with Productive Series (PS) genesis, there is no single opinion regarding both issues till now. Undoubted is that PS and Absheron facies were formed in conditions of closed continental basin, occurred in the result of orogenic restructuring of regions, surrounding the Caspian Sea, its seabed downwarping and followed it pontian regression of the sea. In consequence of hydrographic system restructuring a lot of rivers of Russian platform, including Paleo Volga, began to flow into SCB, bringing a great amount of water and sediments, enriched with quartz. The paleo rivers flowing into SCB from west and east, including full-watered Paleo Kura and Uzboy (Paleo Amudarya), brought a great amount of sedimentary materialы from the mountain structures, surrounding the Caspian Sea.
