It is impossible to increase production of high-octane gasoline complying with up-to-date standards with octane numbers (ON) 95-98 without application of octane rising additives and oxygen containing components. Application of octane rising additives developed on the basis of aliphatic alcohol, dialkyl ether may become one of the ways of solving problem of high-octane gasoline production increase. At the moment, isopropyl alcohol is being produced in Synthezkauchuk Production Union (PO) in Sumgait city. Herewith, as a by-product polymer fraction (residual oil), containing up to 80 % diisopropyl ethers (DIPE), is formed. We have developed the technology of preparation of oxygenated high-octane motor gasoline with involvement of the by-product (waste of isopropyl alcohol production) in their composition. It has been established that introduction of DIPE wastes with ON of 95-96 into base compositional gasoline in amount of 10-15 % by motor method will enable dramatically increase A-92, A-93, A-95 motor gasoline types output without price rising, and significantly decrease exhaust toxicity.
