In recent years, hazardous substances in air pollution is a major cause for concern. Pollutants emitted by cars - hydrocarbons, in particular cyclic aromatic compounds, oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur, as well as suspended aerosols are particularly dangerous to human health. From this point of view, to assess the environmental impact the Ecology Department holds annual work inventory of atmospheric emissions in SOCAR, the Operation Companies and Joint Ventures from both stationary and mobile sources. Due to the fact that the coefficients taken in the methods used in these calculations do not reflect the current state of vehicles and special equipment to SOCAR, in the submitted article experimental work on the calculation of new emission factors with the available means of transport has been carried out. During the measurements, using the existing equipment in the Ecology Department - gas analysers Stargas-898, Smokemetr-495/01 and the gas meter Hontzech volumes of gas (m3/hour) and the volume composition of hazardous substances (% by volume) emitted by cars used in the calculation of specific emission factors, have been measured. In Excel program a special file for the calculation of annual emission components with the annual mileage of cars and specific emission factors has been developed. The experimental and measuring works on vehicles and special machinery of the Ecological Department have been conducted, as well as for the time invested in the 2012 fuel emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere by vehicles of the Ecological Department of SOCAR and divisions calculated.
