On the basis of comparison the classification of Azerbaijan oils has been carried out. Due to the numerous conducted researches it was revealed that Azerbaijan oils contain microelements in insignificant amount. They are characterized by a relatively high concentration of iron. According to researches assumption, iron in the largest amount is concentrated in younger oils as it is accumulated in oil in the initial moment of their formation and further due to the oxidation reactions of the element are washed out by contact with formation water. The ratio of Fe: Ni as age correlative is for offshore oils 0.658, for continental oils 0.67.1. Vanadium is found only in Azeri oil in an amount of 3.38 ppm. The elements Cu, Zn, Mg, Fe are found in all crude oils (11 samples). Precious metals (Au, Ag, Pt) found in the oils of Absheron in traces and not revealed in the oils of the continental regions of Azerbaijan. Oils of the South Caspian depression are rich with microelements, they differ in that they contain Mo in high concentrations. The results of carried out researches showed that for Azerbaijan oils the elements of II, VI, VII and iron groups are characteristic.
