On justification of oil and gas presence in Mesozoic deposits of Pre-Caspian-Guba oil and gas bearing region

BorovikovaThe article deals with the summary of results of geophysical survey using deep drilling and seismic exploration data via the common deep point method (CDP), conducted on purpose of clarifying of geological structure of sedimentary cover in Pre-Caspian-Guba oil-gas bearing region (OGBR), which is one of the tectonic elements on Azerbaijan territory. In the results of carried out works, the major parameters of stratigraphic units participating in the profile of OGBR, have been specified. An opinion has been delivered about that the inner side of Middle Jurassic stage of geological profile contains sediments, which are characterized with the secondary porosity, occurring as a consequence of displacements caused by tectonic processes. The recommendations have been provided for further investigation of prospects of oil bearing content of OGBR territories using 3D seismic exploration and deep drilling.
