Building on geodynamic processes, i.e. on transformation and listric condition of Pre-Caucasian-Turkmen depression, seismotectonics of western part of the Turan plate and northern part of South Caspian mega-depression, as well as on specific tectonic structure of oil and gas deposits of Caspian Sea in whole, we have made an attempt to characterize the evolution of South Caspian oil and gas region and to find out the migration ways of hydrocarbons. It is supposed that as a result of instability of Turan plate, which is connected with seismo-tectonic features of geo-structural elements, such as Main Zagros thrust, Lut Dasht block, Epihercynian platform (Turan plate), hydrocarbons migrate to the Pre-Caucasian-Turkmenian deep (listric) depression from the deep layers towards overlying ones and accumulate in favorable conditions, particularly in Miocene-Pliocene structures of Absheron-Prebalkhan upheaval zone.
