In order to improve physical-chemical and exploitation properties of motor oils, various additives of alkylphenolated and sulfonated type are used. Raw materials for preparation of above-mentioned additives are alkylphenols by alkylation of phenol by polymerdistillate and trimer of propylene in the presence of various catalysts. The article is devoted to preparation of octylphenol (alkylphenol) by alkylation of phenol by octane-2 in the presence of catalyst Ceocar-2. It was established that in optimum conditions the yield of (alkylphenol) octylphenol is 78,6 % considering on phenol taken for reaction.
