Prediction of tectonic-sealed traps of Yevlakh-Aghjabedy depression based on new data
Sh.Kh. AkhundovPrediction of complex hydrocarbon reservoirs within unstudied or less-studied drilled areas requires not only high resolution seismic survey, but also makes compulsory the conducting of regions geological development history analysis. For this purpose, on the basis of seismic exploration results, the paleotectonic analysis of south-eastern part of Yevlakh-Aghjabedy depression has been carried out. Paleotectonic reconstructions defined that formation of oil and gas reservoirs and their placement within area and depth are controlled by faults. In the predicted promising areas, placement of exploration wells is recommended.
