Application of vapor-phase chromatography for analysis of petrochemical synthesis products
M.N. AliyevaThe results of analysis of petrochemical synthesis products with application of vapor-phase chromatography are presented. The separation process of chromatographed compounds was studied in vapor, liquid and solid phases. The measures of distribution coefficient of analyzed substances via dynamic and static method were conducted. In data analysis it is necessary to take into consideration relatively high concentration of substances in vapor phase in rigid liquid phase. The dependence of retention time of substances on temperature for polar sorbents and weak polar rigid liquid phase was researched. The linear dependence of substances retention time logarithm on hydrocarbon atoms in homological series was revealed. The influence of mobile vapor-phase on effectiveness of chromatography columns and symmetric areas was studied. Substitution of inert gas as mobile phase with water vapor and/or organic solvents (acetone, hexane) enables to enhance efficiency of columns, reduce asymmetry in chromatography zones and increase separation degree. The retention time and coefficient of asymmetry of studied components of high-boiled, polar organic compounds and products of petrochemical synthesis were defined.
