As a result of geological-geophysical and seismic exploration researches, numerous structures have been revealed on the territory of Yevlakh-Aghjabady deflection, which is characterized by high oil and gas content prospects. Their geological structure have been studied, oil and gas content defined via exploration wells drilled on some of them. Large quantities of structural maps have been composed over the past period on various deposits of individual areas of Yevlakh-Aghjabady deflection, though uncorrelated and not generalized until now. Therefore, it was considered advisable to correlate and generalize numerous primary structural maps based on seismic data for various exploration areas and a single site structure map of the prospective Cretaceous deposits in the given deflection, has been compiled to clarify certain geological challenges associated with oil and gas deposits exploration in Yevlakh-Aghjabady deflection.
