The role of electrical prospecting methods in exploration of underground fresh waters between Girdimanchay-Goychay
M.A. AsadovaThe resources of fresh and low-mineralized underground waters are limited and distributed non-uniformly on the territory of Republic. In the nourishment of underground waters the great role is played by atmospheric precipitation. For the purpose of searching the area between Girdimanchay-Goychay, as a result of the geophysical survey conducted by us, the greater role in exploration of underground fresh waters belongs to electrical prospecting method. By data of the electric prospecting, the borders of rocks of different composition, character of the materials filling the cracks and lithologic composition section have been identified. The division of territory into perspective areas on accumulation conditions of underground waters became possible. The thickness of clay layers in the section increases in the north-west to south-east, and the actual resistance of the rocks decreases due to the transition of gravel-pebble sediments to clay ones. The thickness of water bearing horizon of supposed area changes within 160-200 m and is practically observed throughout all area.
