Technical peculiarities and oil-gas perspectives of deep-seated deposits in depression zones of Lower Kura and Baku archipelago
V.A. VeliyevaThe reduction of Production Series sediments thickness from the centre of Lower Kura depression till its south-west border from 3500-4000 m to full pinching enables forming of stratigraphical and lithological types of deposits that also increases perspectives in this zone. All anticlinal zones of archipelago, except uplifts of archipelago zones within Sangachal-deniz-Khara-Zira adasy and also uplifts such as Bulla-deniz and Umid located on syncline Kichikdagh-Umid are also of submerical extension. The northern zone uplifts within Baku archipelago-Sangachal-denizKhara-Zira adasy; Bulla-deniz and Umid with its four undulations uniting with each other in lower-seated deposits, forms one large structure, which is recommended to consider while drilling. Taking in account the fact that well drilled in Zafar-Mashal uplift (depth 7088 m) near Baku archipelago is in rather deeper southern part of the sea within other such kind of uplifts, which even did not reveal the base surface of Lower Pliocene, one can conclude there maybe hydrocarbon accumulations at depth of 8-9 km, that allow talking about perspectives of these depths. As a result of intensive process of deflection and sedimentation in young structures of Jeyrankechmez depression, the thickness of young Pliocene-Antropogene deposits reach 10 km. Such buried structured as Seyar, Seyar-2 and Saba were revealed here and considered to be perspective for oil-gas content.
