For forecasting of oil and gas reservoirs, the physical properties (mineralogical density, density, porosity, the velocity of longitudinal waves and magnetic receptivity) of Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Paleocene rock samples by cores from the prospecting, exploration wells and outcrops on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were studied via petrophysical research. In the results of interpretation of data on petro-physical characteristics of samples, the average values of parameters of separate rocks of different stratigraphic units have been calculated. The minimum and maximum limit values calculated. The table describing lithological and petro-physical characteristics of rocks of various stratigraphic ages has been composed. The analysis of geological-geophysical and petrophysical materials, carried out works in central part of Nakhchivan depression allows concluding that the collectors of formed here sediments may be favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation.
