Oil-gas potential of the lower section of Productive Series in the light of new data obtained in Bulla-Deniz field

YusifovThe lower section of the Productive Series (PS) on structures of Baku Archipelago is reviewed long ago as an object containing significant raw hydrocarbon reserves with extremely high potential. However, long-term exploration surveys did not give expected results. Only in limited number of structures in Upper Girmaky sand suite a gas-condensate deposit were revealed, and Lower Girmaky sand and Gala suites were not even opened by deep exploration wells in the most structures of the archipelago. The reason is poorly studied geological section and extremely complicated geological-technological conditions for well drilling. Despite of this, exploration works in lower section of PS were continued in south-east part of Bulla-deniz field, where in connection with favorable paleogeographic state of structure for Absheron facies, improvement of filtration-capacity parameters was forecasted. The encouraging results were obtained in construction of well No. 90, in which a powerful gas-condensate gusher took place. It significantly increases the potential of lower section of PS in all nearby structures.
