The changes in lithofacies composition (terrigenious-carbonate and tuffogenic rocks) of paleogene complex in Kura and Gabirry interriver oil and gas bearing region is due to the direct connection of accumulative processes with tectonics. The conducted analysis allowed identifying promising areas, where the possible formation of complicated structured hydrocarbon deposits in deep paleogene sediments is supposed. The correlation and break-down of paleogene sediments enabling justification of marking horizons in the sections of exploration well was conducted. The paleostructural development of paleogene structure fixing the highest tectonic differentiation in the sediments of Middle Eocene was tracked. The zones with high porosity and character of effective thicknesses distribution in Middle Eocene were defined, as well as the sediments characterized with high isolation properties of rock-tire were revealed in paleogene complex.
