The negative impact of asphaltene-resin-paraffinic sediments on oil recovery is described. Scientific-research works in this sphere are reviewed and major paraffin formation factors analyzed. It was defined that the basis of sediment formation is the chemical composition of oil products, flow cooling via temperature regime change, hydrodynamic condition, well productivity, heat conductivity, temperature difference, throttle effect and etc. Frequent change of gas-fluid mixture motion structure and electrification process of fluid flow in the operation of blow-gaslift wells are one of the reasons for asphaltene-resin-paraffinic sedimentation. The scientific research and field experience show that the subsequent treatment of settled paraffin is not profitable from the technical-exploitation and economical point of views and therefore, premature prevention of paraffin formation by means of chemical methods of treatment is considered more effective.
