Some properties of acylation reaction of 2-hydroxy-5-(methyl-cyclo-alkyl)-3-benzyl-phenylamin with acetic acid in the presence of ZnCl2 catalyst
R.Z. BaghirzadehThe results of synthesis of 2-hydroxy-3-phenylamino-methyl-5-methyl-cyclo-alkylasetofenon from the acylation reaction of 2-hydroxy-5-(methyl-cycloalkyl)-benzyl-phenylamin with acetic acid in the presence of ZnCl2 catalyst and the tests of them as antioxidants for M-8 machine oil are provided. In order to achieve the necessary acylation yield, the temperature process affection, initial components’ molar ratio and reaction time were studied. The optimum conditions for the acylation reaction of 2-hydroxy-5-[(1-methylcyclopentyl)-benzyl-phenylamine with acetic acid in the presence of ZnCl2 catalyst have been defined: temperature - 145 oC, duration - 45 minu-tes. The physical-chemical properties of synthesized compounds via IR and H1-NMR spectroscopic methods have been confirmed. 2-Hydroxy-3-phenyl-amino-methyl-5-methyl-cyclo-alkyl-acetophenones was tested as an antioxidant for M-8 base oil at high temperature (200 oC).
