New data on determination of lithostratigraphic sketich of middle jurassic deposits within Azerbaijan Precaspian trough

During last two years in connection with exploration works in Mesozoic deposits on Yalama structure among researchers sharply increases interest to sedimentological and paleogeographic investigations of middle Jurassic sediments within Azerbaijan Precaspian trough. After 2003 years researchers of the National Institute of geology jointy by the foreign investors are engaged with the generalization of exploration works and assessment oil-gas potential of middle Jurassic deposits in this region. Unfortunately in this works middle jurassic deposits in Precaspian region considesr as bayos – bat deposits undissection to the concretе stratiqraphic units. Authors of paper in the last three years are conducted special field works in mountain part of south-east Caucasus and Precaspian lowland as well. In the results of complex investigation middle jurassic deposits they have been dissected to the regional and local lythostrations, which by asstistence rare ammonites, pelesipods and foraminifer fossils have correlated with the sections of middle jurassic deposits in south-east Caucasus. We have established in Precaspian trough of Azerbaijan middle jurassic deposits, which are presented by upper aalen, and bayos sediments, according to international stratigraphic scale.
