This paper investigates motor control for pumpjuck operations using variable speed drive (VSD) in oil extraction, also given the cost-performance from introducing the VSD. The VSD provides asynchronous motor full protection as well as in real time mode allows to execute checking-measuring functions. The variable speed drive using enables unceasing working extraction and provides electric power economy; increases the period of usages of the equipment; the remote control of extraction. In ANAS Cybernetics Institute has been constructed station for control of pumpjuck motor for oil extraction on the basis of VSD ATV61 - a production Schneider-Electric and intellectual hole controller QK-01 - a production Institute Cybernetics of ANAS. The station was tested on borehole in «Balakhany» OGED (Oil and Gas Extraction Department) and the results protocolled. According to the results the station application economical effectiveness was analysed. The calculations show that system recoupment period is shorter than one year. Given conclusion is based on one factor - electric power consumption value grew shorter on 60%. Such variable as extraction idle time, pulley change, salary to personnel for repair and etc. were not taken into account. If they would be taken in attention, then it is possible to speak about shorter payback period. The result obtained in the course of test station fluent control pumpjuck, possible draw a conclusion that mass introduction of this system will give the essential increase to capacity with expenses reduction on usage installation station system.
