The role of the structural-tectonic characteristics of Caspian-Guba oil-gas bearing region in formation of underground water reserves

The article is devoted to the analysis of the impact of structural-tectonic characteristics of the Caspian-Guba oil-
gas bearing region on the formation conditions of underground water resources. Based on the analysis of the short chronological sequence of geophysical research carried out by various organizations from the beginning of the last century to the modern era, the author came to the conclusion that geographically the area is a complex structural-tectonic formation, and in this view, it is necessary to conduct new research surveys to study the underground water resources. Particularly, highly accurate geophysical surveys should be carried out in this direction to specify the perspectives of the underground water.
