Searching of underground waters of the cone and paleoriver bed of the Araz with the electroprospecting methods

M. A. Asadov

The resources of fresh and low-mineralized underground waters are limited and distributed unequally on the territory of our Republic. Atmosphere precipitation plays a great role in the nourishment of underground waters. Electroprospecting methods, in the result of geophysical planning work carried out on the scale of 1:50000 have a great significance for the purpose of searches of underground waters of the cone and paleoriver bed of the Araz. In the result of the electric investigations the borders of rocks with different compositions, the character of the materials filling chinks, lithologic composition have been determined. It was possible to define the place of paleoriver bed and to separate perspective areas which have auspicious condition from the point of gathering of underground waters. As a result of geophysical investigations the following regularities can be revealed: increase of the thickness of each lithologic composition from the north-west to the south-east and reduction of their special resistance. In the north part of the territory electric resistance of rocks, making different lithologic compositions changes from 25 to 130, and in the south part from 20-8 Om.m. The reason of higher change in the north-west part than in the south-east is connected both with hydro-geological and lithologic factors. From the lithologic point clayey and sandy deposit in the layers, consist of boulder and gravil as filling materials in the north-west part are more than in the south-east part. Such a change of lithologic composition leads to decrease in electric resistance of the layers making the cut. The thickness of the aquifer, supposed in the prospective area, changes within 100250 m and it is observed nearly throughout the area.
