Tectonic features and oil-gas content of the south-east part of Alyat ridge

BalaevThe article is devoted to tectonic belongings of Dashgil and Alyat-deniz highs as well as the rest structures of Alyat ridge with different basins, answers to questions of hydrocarbon deposits distributions. Detection of oil and gas accumulations on the structure of Alyat-deniz and Dashgil areas, industrial productivity is not comfirned up to present time, are forecasted. The results of long-term prospecting and exploration works on Alyat-deniz and Dashgil areas was tapping lower productive series and generally accepted opinion about absence of these deposits on Alyat-deniz and Dashgil structures. Tapping Alyat-deniz and Dashgil uplift sections, productive series lower division deposits confirmed that in this area, as well as, on the majority structures of Baku archipelago sea regime existed. Comparative analysis of mineral composition of rock with VII horizon structure of Alyat-deniz, Dashgil, Khara-Zira-deniz shows that they consist of 85 % of quartz grains. Structural and tectonic peculiarities of Alyat-deniz and Dashgil uplifts significantly influenced upon distribution of hydrocarbon deposits. These structures are situated on the way of hydrocarbon migration flows from the center of Jeyrankechmez and Lowyer Kur depression. Oil and gas deposits on northern-eastern limbs and above mentioned structures of periclinals indicate to Jeyrankechmez depression as the main source of hyrdrocarbon generation. The character of oil, gas and layer waters on Alyat-deniz and Dashgil shows that distribution of hydrocarbon and water in the traps mainly subordinates to gravitational scheme of V. Gassov. Some pictures of the distribution of hydrocarbons are in Dashgil structure. Here in VII horizon, board gas-condensate deposit was revealed and it means that according to V. Gassovs theory deposit discovery in the form of oil fringe on non-prospected submersions of north-east limb and south-east periclinal is not expected. We suggest drilling two exploratory wells from onshore site (Alyat cape): one vertical well and the other slanted and directionally drilled towards uplift arch to clear up Alyat-deniz structure near arch part and north-west periclinal oil and gas content. Drilling exploratory well one by one on non-prospective areas of north-east limb and south-east periclinal is suggested to clear up the existence of oil deposit in the form of fringe on Dashgil structure.
