Sorbent based on processing of used car tires for cleaning of water surface from oil and oil products
Y.M. BilalovInfluence of rubber containing scraps utilized rubber-technical goods, especially worn car tires to environment has been studied. It has been determined that for solving of ecological problem of used car tires utilization which cause harm to environment, their processing for receiving different materials and goods is necessary, because great amount of produced car tires and their relative short life provides enough amounts of row materials for processing. Investigations on rubber crumbs use obtained from used car tires processing as a sorbent for water surface cleaning from oil and oil products have been carried out. It has been revealed that unlike rubber products crumbs protector tires crumbs do not fold and have an elastic form, due to which have high sorption ability. Influence of sorbent quantity rubber crumbs and oil sorption time on water surface cleaning degree has been studied. It has been determined that rubber crumb obtained in processing of protector part of used car tires is an excellent sorbent for oil and oil products with the help of which spread of oil and oil products on the surface of the sea and other reservoirs during breakdowns can be removed. Efficiency of the application of offered sorbent for cleaning of water surface from oil and oil products is determined by high ability of sorption of oil and oil products, reliability of removing of swelled rubber crumb in oil and oil products, localization opportunity of oil spot and providing shore protection.
