Prospectivity of separate oil and gas zones in Southern Caspian depression from a tectonic point of view
Kh.Z. MukhtarovaSouthern Caspian depression by the geological structure and prospectivity can be divided into Absheron, Baku archipelagoes, Shamakhy-Gobustan and Lower Kura oil and gas bearing areas and the Turkmen structural terrace. On the western part of this basin prospectivity is connected with Productive Series, and on east part with the Red Series. The analysis of structures formation in this region shows that they have approximately similar geotectonic development history, their directions of bearing, tectonical faults, complicated these structures, geological configuration wing configuration and so on allows assume their identity in tectonic development during different geological times. Such approach to the task gives a chance to estimate prospectivity of this region more precisely.
